Before joining CNDLS, Shenita has led efforts related to Online Learning, Education, Faculty Affairs, and Academic Affairs in the School of Continuing Studies. She worked at Virginia Union University as the Director for Distance and Continuing Education and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (UWP) where she served as the Associate Director Distance Learning Center and the Director for Midwest Culturally Inclusive Conference.

Shenita has developed programs and taught courses related to management, gender, and race and social impact instructional design. Applied, experiential and real-world based applications are the teaching strategies she has found to be most effective in advancing student learning and academic success.

Prior to her career in higher education, Ray worked for General Electric as a Six Sigma BlackBelt and as an Information Technology leader as part of the company’s Information Management Leadership Program.

Outside of work, Ray enjoys being with family and friends, cooking, hot yoga, biking, reading, and writing.
