Satchel is a current Graduate Associate, and works with the Inclusive Pedagogy team at CNDLS. He is pursuing a Master of Science in Linguistics with a concentration in Sociolinguistics at Georgetown’s College of Arts and Sciences. He takes particular interest in the intersections of gender and race, working from a perspective that marginalized voices offer important insights to the academy.

Satchel received a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Reed College, where he also served as the Asian Pacific Islander Student Events Coordinator for the school’s Multicultural Resource Center. During his time as an undergraduate student, he worked on projects exploring youth directed linguistic discrimination in the classroom as well as the speech production of mixed-race Japanese Americans.

In his free time, Satchel enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring the city.
