Sam Whalen is a second year M.A. candidate in the Georgetown Communications, Culture & Technology program (CCT) and a Graduate Associate at CNDLS.
Sam graduated from Colgate University (no, not like the toothpaste) in Hamilton, NY in 2016 with a B.S. degree in computer science and film and media studies. She spent time during her undergraduate career as an active member of the Women in Computer Science club and the co-president of Colgate University Television. She even interned for a month on a film set during January of 2016. Sam is primarily interested in human-computer interaction and the influence that changing cultures have on different media, specifically television and film.
When she's not in class or working, Sam enjoys being on the water, going to any performing arts show, and listening to traditional Irish music. And, of course, catching up on her shows.
