Inclusive Pedagogy Coffee Hours for Faculty with Bryan Dewsbury

Dr. Bryan Dewsbury is a biologist and innovative scholar focused on inclusive teaching, thinking about how we can transform teaching to center issues of equity and justice. He will be visiting Georgetown on March 2nd and 3rd to deliver a public talk and speak with different groups of faculty on inclusive teaching practices.

As part of his visit, we would like to invite individual faculty who have questions about how to develop new teaching practices or groups of faculty and staff working together on issues of equity and justice to join us for open conversations and discussions with one another and with Bryan.

Do you have questions about designing inclusive, large intro courses? About inclusive mentoring and research practices? About creating an inclusive classroom climate or other aspects of equity-minded teaching and learning? Come with questions or simply for community, conversation, and the opportunity to engage with Bryan. You are welcome to any of the following sessions:

  • Coffee Hour with Bryan Dewsbury: Thursday, March 2 from 10 am - 11:20 am in the Healey Family Student Center, (Herman Room, with breakfast) or via Zoom
  • Public talk, Beyond Inclusion: The Tethering of the College Classroom to a Socially Just Society: Thursday, March 2 from 11:30 am-12:50 pm in the Healey Family Student Center (Social Room).
  • Coffee Hour with Bryan Dewsbury: Thursday, March 2 from 2:15 pm - 3:45 pm in the Healey Family Student Center, (Social Room, with snacks) or via Zoom
  • Coffee Hour with Bryan Dewsbury: Friday, March 3 from 9 am - 10:30 am in McShain Lounge, Large with breakfast or via Zoom
