AT Program: Leading Effective Lab and Recitation Sections (STEM)

Join us on Tuesday, December 7 from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm on Zoom. The workshop is meant for Graduate Students tasked to teach in a lab or recitation setting. Within this workshop, we will model different teaching modalities in classes of this nature. We will then discuss research-informed best practices and practical advice on using these different modalities in order to build a dynamic session and provide an active learning environment in STEM classes.

Please note that, while Apprenticeship in Teaching (AT) workshops are open to faculty, they are designed for graduate students. Presentations and many of the exercises are designed for instructors with relatively little teaching experience. Some workshops are more appropriate than others for those with more teaching experience. Faculty with a particular interest in one of the AT workshops should contact James Olsen before registering.
