Maureen Hall
Maureen Hall (PhD University of Virginia) is an Assistant Professor in the Education Department at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Dr. Hall's teaching history began in 1988. Dr. Hall began her teaching career in the public schools of northern New Hampshire, where she taught seventh and eighth grade English and social studies for five years. For the next five years, she taught English and U.S. History at the high school level in southern New Hampshire. She is currently a member of the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and her work focuses on Cognitive-Affective Learning. Her current research projects focus on the cognitive and affective dimensions of service learning with pre-service teachers, the professional development of teachers, and the integration of contemplative practices to deepen learning. She has a forthcoming book with Equinox Publishers in London entitled, Writing from the Inside, which explores the power of contemplative writing and how it can deepen learning.
