Commons Project Assistant

B.S. in Information Systems, University of Maryland Baltimore County

Yong joined the CNDLS team in 2010 after interviewing director Edward Maloney about the use of blogs in his 20th century literature class. As current director of the Social Media Club Education Connection (SMCEDU), he coordinates a national initiative to advance social media in higher education curricula.

With a keen interest in how technology is shaping present and future pedagogies and the evolving classroom model, he gravitated toward CNDLS and The Commons with its focus on collaboration and new ways of teaching and learning.

Yong has a background in web development as a front-end designer/developer, and also blogs for an entertainment and political website.
