Katina arrived in Washington, DC from Chicago, Illinois in August 2011. Before coming to CNDLS, she worked at The Chicago Teachers’ Center (CTC), an educational organization of The College of Education of Northeastern Illinois University in September 1994. Her work included a federally funded academic program called Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP). Within this program Katina was involved in the coordination, planning and training of student, parent and teacher initiatives. Katina was the Executive Administrator to the Director of GEAR UP and The Chicago Teachers’ Center. During her last three years at CTC, she served on the Communication Committee as a writer and editor for CTC’s bi-weekly publication and other documents and publications. She also worked with the committee marketing and promoting CTC’s educational resources, programs and events. Katina studied Psychology at Northeastern Illinois University and plans to continue her studies at Georgetown University’s Communication, Culture, and Technology Program.

CNDLS Graduate Associates

CNDLS' Graduate Student Associates (GAs) share our staff's enthusiasm for all that fosters the scholarship of teaching and learning. Every Graduate Associate is an integral part of the CNDLS team and participates fully in the atmosphere of open communication, teamwork, and sharing of knowledge and ideas. GAs dedicate most of their time to working closely with Georgetown University faculty members and students on academic and professional projects; they also participate in a variety of CNDLS and university-wide projects and events.
