CNDLS will be hosting an event in the spring focused on language learning technology: the Mid-Atlantic Association for Language Learning Technology and the Southeast Association for Language Learning Technology 2010 Joint Conference. Taking place here at Georgetown March 10-13, the conference will feature workshops and presentations on the use of technology in foreign/second language learning and teaching, both at the K-12 and higher education levels. There is an ongoing call for proposals which ends on November 22nd, and those interested can visit this page to learn more.
Attendees of the 2009 Fall Faculty Convocation saw the premiere of Reimagining Tradition: The Spirit of Teaching and Learning at Georgetown, produced by CNDLS. The film offers input from faculty, students, and staff on Georgetown's traditions and challenges, and shares stories of innovation from across campus. View the film on the CNDLS homepage.
Georgetown faculty, staff, and students have used WordPress—the blogging tool offered by CNDLS as part of the Georgetown Digital Commons project—for classes, research portfolios, and content management. Join CNDLS at the Gelardin New Media center for an introduction to blogs, the Digital Commons, and how a blog might fit into your curriculum or scholarship. Participants will get hands-on training on how to set up, use, and customize WordPress to their needs. Space is limited, and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Wednesday, November 18th, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Picchi Multimedia Room in the Gelardin New Media Center, Lauinger Library #104
Instructors: Rob Pongsajapan and Marie Selvanadin (CNDLS)
