Georgetown Learning Initiatives: Reimagining the University as a Living Laboratory for Transformative Learning

Overview

The Georgetown Learning Initiatives (GLI) are an integrated collection of projects and strategies designed to promote innovative and transformative teaching and learning at Georgetown, from student-led initiatives to faculty projects to large-scale curricular renewal. The GLI is at the heart of Georgetown’s imperative to lead in designing a new kind of education, combining centuries of leadership in teaching with a commitment to navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by the 21st century. CNDLS supports a number of GLI programs in various ways.

To explore the themes of the GLI, such as Participatory Learning, Teaching the Whole Person, Global Learning, and Learning through Practice, please visit the GLI site

The GLI began in 2006 as the Undergraduate Learning Initiative. Additional information about the original project can be found in the first Undergraduate Learning Initiative brochure. The project was expanded in 2008 to address all aspects of learning at Georgetown University.
