The Dahlgren Memorial Library provides a wealth of technological tools and resources to simplify and strengthen your research and teaching efforts. Dahlgren Library’s web site provides a starting point to find answers to your research questions.

The library’s Web site provides access to the following:

  • GEORGEmed, Dahlgren's Online Catalog
  • Databases, Indexes, and Electronic Books including the following:
    • BioMed Central
    • Books @ Ovid: biomedical/nursing
    • Journals @ Ovid: biomedical/nursing collections
    • MDConsult: books and journals
    • Project MUSE: recent issues of Johns Hopkins University Press
      scholarly journals, including medicine and the history of medicine
    • ScienceDirect: Electronic Journals
    • Nature Journals Online
  • Journal Finder for access to all of Georgetown University's print and electronic journals.

Computers with access to all of the library's online resources are available in the information services area located on the ground floor of the Dahlgren Memorial Library. Additional research and educational software such as EndNote, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), and SymBioSis is available on selected workstations located in the Biomedical Academic Computing Center (BACC) on the lower level of the library.

Many resources (such as GEORGEmed, Ovid databases, MDConsult, and ScienceDirect) are freely available anywhere you have Georgetown University internet access.

Although access to some online databases is restricted to on-campus use, several resources are available off-campus for registered Georgetown University faculty, staff, and students, as well as for the Georgetown University Hospital staff.
