ELECTRONIC RESEARCH TOOLS AND RESOURCES

The heart of the library’s web site, the Electronic Resources web page is the place to launch your research and to gain access to databases and other online resources.

Access databases or full-text resources by clicking on a letter on the page, entering a keyword or database name, or choosing a broad subject category.

Databases and resources include GEORGEmed (Dahlgren’s Online Catalog), MEDLINE, AMED, BioMedCentral, Books@Ovid, CINAHL, Community of Science, Evidence Based Medicine Reviews, InfoRetriever, Journals@Ovid, MDConsult, ScienceDirect, the Web of Science, and others.

These resources include the following:

  • More than 1800 full-text electronic journals, including accompanying images and graphs
  • Biomedical databases, including journal indexes (Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL, and others)
  • Directories, encyclopedias,
    dictionaries, and other books
  • Full-text government publications
  • Educational software resources

Although most of the electronic resources are available from workstations anywhere on campus, a few resources, such as EndNote, SymBioSis, and the Interactive Brain Atlas software programs, can be accessed only in the library. Many electronic resources are available off-campus. For more information, see
Off-Campus Access to Library Resources.
