OFF CAMPUS ACCESS TO LIBRARY
Library Privileges
In order to access electronic library materials from off campus,
you must have library privileges at the Georgetown University Libraries.
If you have not applied for library privileges, please use Dahlgren's
online
form .
*Georgetown University Hospital employees should contact the Library
to be sure that their GOCard numbers areincluded in their library
records. If you do not have a GOCard
, you will need to stop at the library to have a barcode put
on your Hospital ID.
GU Express
All electronic books, journals, and database resources are available
off-campus via GUExpress. GUExpress is a service that allows Georgetown
University affiliated users to dial in to a local number (202 area
code) to access the web as if on campus. Please note that GUExpress
allows access for a limited amount of time per session.
If you are connecting to the Internet through any other service
provider, you can obtain remote access usernames and passwords for
selected resources, such as MDConsult, OVID databases and full-text
resources, and ScienceDirect.
Once you have completed these steps, you will have off-campus
access to selected resources from the library's web site.
Available resources include the following:
- GEORGEmed (Dahlgren's Online Catalog)
- Dahlgren Online Tour and Orientation
- BioMed Central
- Community of Science
- Ovid databases: MEDLINE, CINAHL, Evidence-Based Medicine Reviews,
Journals@Ovid, Books@Ovid, AMED, and others
- MD Consult
