OUTLINE OF WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES

  • Activity 1 -- Introduction
    Introduction to the Case Study: introduces the course under consideration and the particular key teaching moment ("the map exercise")

  • Activity 2 -- Thinking About Student Learning
    Questions about Learning: consider student learning in relation to the goals of a particular teaching moment

  • Activity 3 -- Working from the Evidence of Student Learning
    Students' Working: watch clips of students working on the map exercise and consider possible researchable questions in the context of Sherry's course

  • Activity 4 -- Researchable Questions
    Researchable Questions in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: write researchable questions for your own course or a key teaching moment within the course

  • Activity 5 -- Evidence of Student Learning
    Reflections on the Evidence of Student Learning: examine the different kinds of materials and samples of student work that provide evidence of learning.
