Tentative Agenda for April 24th-25th workshop


Week preceding the workshop:
Individual review of selected web-mounted digital stories
(e.g., Center for Digital Storytelling at UC Berkeley, Visible
Knowledge
Project's Digital Stories Affinity Group, Millersville University and
Lancaster City & County)

April 24th: What's Out There? (beginning at around 4:00 pm or so)
A. Group review and assessment of selected digital stories/DS
website
B. Videoconference with Visible Knowledge Project core
campuses--each
campuses presents one or two digital stories (the intention would be
to
feature the range of different types or genres of digital
storytelling)
C. Dinner
D. Live presentations of locally-produced digital stories
(festival)

April 25th: Where Do We Go From Here? (9:00am-noon)
A. Concurrent sessions such as
* Creating Digital Stories with Middle School Students
* Using Digital Stories in a Language Arts (or Social
Studies)
Classroom
* Incorporating Digital Stories into Curricula of
After-school
Programs
* Digital Stories and Local History Projects
* Presenting Genealogical Research in the Form of Digital
Stories
* Digitizing Autobiographies and Memoirs
* Digital Stories of First Generation College Students
* Software resources for Creating Digital Stories
(PowerPoint,
Adobe Premier, QuickTime, iMovies)

B. Plenary session: Sharing Next Steps
